ESG & UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Alignment

The Veg Sahayyak SDK is architected with a fundamental commitment to road safety, environmental sustainability, and ethical data privacy.

For enterprise fleet operators, logistics companies, municipal transit authorities, and insurance partners, deploying Veg Sahayyak provides measurable alignment with global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting standards and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

SDG 3

SDG 3.6: Vision Zero & Road Traffic Fatality Reduction

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), excessive and inappropriate speed contributes to nearly one-third of all fatal traffic crashes in high-income countries and up to one-half in low- and middle-income countries.

1. High-Precision Overspeed Prevention

The SDK's TelematicsEngine monitors velocity with sub-second accuracy using Exponential Moving Average (EMA) signal smoothing. When a vehicle exceeds safe thresholds, the SDK triggers immediate, tiered auditory and visual escalations before an accident occurs.

2. Expressway Rear-End Collision Defense

Vehicles traveling drastically below highway traffic flow present severe crash hazards. Veg Sahayyak incorporates configurable minimum speed corridors with intelligent 8 km/h stationary suppression to ensure drivers maintain safe highway momentum without generating false alarms at toll booths or traffic signals.

3. Eyes-on-the-Road HUD Mode

To combat distracted driving—the fastest-growing cause of road accidents—the :speed-ui module includes a pure OLED-black (#000000) Windshield HUD Mode. Utilizing Modifier.hudMirror(), driver speeds are projected onto the windshield glass, eliminating downward smartphone glances during night driving.

SDG 11

SDG 11.2: Inclusive Urban Mobility & Vulnerable Road Users

Urban transportation must be safe and accessible for all participants, particularly vulnerable road users (VRUs) sharing roads with heavy vehicles.

1. Micro-Mobility & Gig-Courier Protection

Delivery workers and two-wheeler operators face disproportionate road risks. Veg Sahayyak provides specialized presets for:

  • Motorcycles: Tuned for urban split-lane awareness.
  • E-Scooters: Restricted to municipal low-speed micro-mobility regulations (e.g., 20–25 km/h).
  • Bicycles: Low-speed filtering preventing erratic GPS drift.

2. Universal Accessibility (a11y)

The SDK enforces complete screen-reader compatibility across Compose UI components:

  • Full TalkBack semantics, content descriptions, and custom accessibility action labels.
  • Support for Android Switch Access and assistive input peripherals.
  • Dynamic font scaling and high-contrast OLED themes supporting elderly and visually impaired drivers.

SDG 12SDG 13

SDG 12.2 & 13.3: Eco-Driving, Fuel Efficiency & Climate Mitigation

The faster a vehicle travels, the harder it has to fight aerodynamic wind resistance. Constantly speeding up and slowing down burns far more fuel than cruising at a steady pace. Staying in a consistent speed range keeps the engine running in its optimal efficiency zone, saving up to 15% on fuel and extending electric battery range.

The Eco-Cruising "Green Band"

Independent studies by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the US Department of Energy confirm that maintaining steady cruising speeds and eliminating velocity oscillation reduces vehicular fuel consumption and emissions by 10% to 20%.

The SDK's Green Band provides clear, continuous feedback that trains commercial fleet drivers and commuters to remain in the optimal fuel-efficiency window, significantly lowering fleet fuel expenditures and associated tailpipe emissions ($CO_2$, $NO_x$, and $PM_{2.5}$).

Enterprise Governance: 100% On-Device Privacy

Many enterprise telematics platforms mine and monetize driver location data. In accordance with strict ESG Governance (G) mandates and global data privacy standards (GDPR, California CCPA, India DPDP):

  • Zero Location Data Leaves the Device: All GPS coordinates, velocity calculations, and threshold evaluations occur purely on-device inside native execution memory.
  • Offline Cryptographic Licensing: Verified offline via RSA-2048 JWT signatures embedded in libveg_vault.so, eliminating telemetry beacons or external tracking calls.
  • Enterprise Audit-Ready: Easily passes corporate compliance reviews without requiring complex cloud data-sharing agreements or privacy impact assessments.
